Are equities currently in a buying zone?

📉 When Nifty 50 trades below its 5-year average P/E , it has historically indicated a value buying zone.

📊 Across multiple cycles (2001–2022), such phases have delivered strong 3-year returns.

🚀 Long-term CAGR in these zones has often ranged between 14%–25%+.

⚠️ Short-term volatility may occur, but probability of positive outcomes improves over time.

March 2026 Insight

As of March 2026, the data indicates that the current Nifty 50 P/E (~19.9) is below the 5-year average P/E (~21.8) →Market appears reasonably valued.

Final Takeaway….

Not a timing signal, but a strong indication to stay invested or gradually accumulate for long-term wealth creation.

Patience like this is essential…

A small tree growing out of a rock in a harsh, dry landscape represents patience, resilience, and long-term growth– exactly what successful investing requires.

In the share market:

Markets are not always favorable .. like the dry environment in the image
Growth is not immediate.. like the tree slowly expanding over time
Obstacles are constant.. like the rock restricting space

Yet, just like the tree:……

Consistent effort + time = Growth
Strong foundation = Survival in tough phases
Patience = Compounding wealth

“True wealth in the stock market is built by those who stay rooted with patience, even in the toughest conditions.”

“The smart investor is one who gets a lot of value and grows more with patience.”

The asset that looks cheap today is often cheaper because people do not understand its value.
When a stock/mutual fund is undervalued, it is “cheap.” It looks but at that time there is less interest in it, so people ignore it. Over time, when his earnings, growth or story is clear, the same asset becomes expensive. The value is not visible immediately, it is seen by time, patience and correct analysis.

Example:

– The stock / mutual fund of ₹50 may seem “expensive” if there is no growth.
– The stock / mutual fund of ₹100 can be “cheap” if the future is strong.

Learning:

– Money in the market is not made by looking at the “price” but by understanding value.
– It is uncomfortable to invest in the early stage, but there is an opportunity.
– Long-term investors are those who recognize tomorrow’s inflation in today’s cheaply.

The Silent Thief (Inflation) vs. The Wealth Creator (Equity)

Over the last 30 years, the purchasing power of the Indian Rupee has plummeted. What ₹100 bought in 1996 now requires nearly ₹830 today. Your “cash” has lost ~88% of its value.

Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 has delivered a massive 2,270% gain AFTER adjusting for inflation.
The real risk isn’t the stock market; it’s the “safety” of holding cash. Invest for the long run.

“The biggest risk isn’t volatility… it’s letting your money sit still while inflation moves.”

Accumulate more units , pay less…

This time can be a favorable opportunity for investors to accumulate additional units especially when the market is witnessing fluctuations or declines. Quality investments are available at a lower price at such times, which increases the chances of better returns in the long term.

Let’s understand this with a simple example:

Suppose you invest ₹5,000 every month in a mutual fund.

Scenario 1: Market is high

– NAV = ₹50
– Units received = 100 units

Scenario 2:  Market falls

-NAV = ₹25
-Units received = 200 units

when the market fell, you got double the units for the same ₹5,000.

What is the benefit?
When the market recovers to ₹50 or higher:

– You now hold more units
– Your total investment value grows faster

Market corrections are not just risks they are opportunities to accumulate quality assets at lower prices. This helps in reducing your average cost and improving long-term returns.

Smart investors don’t fear market dips they use them to accumulate more units and build wealth over time.

In the stock market, your maximum loss is limited to what you invest, but your potential gain can grow without limit if the business succeeds.

In the stock market, one important concept every investor should understand is the risk-reward relationship.

In most equity investments, your maximum possible loss is limited to the amount you invest.
For example, if you invest ₹200 in a stock, the worst-case scenario is that the company fails and the stock value goes to zero. In that case, your maximum loss is ₹200 (100% of your invested capital).

However, the potential gain has no fixed upper limit. If the company performs well and keeps growing over the years, the stock price can multiply many times. That same ₹200 investment could become ₹500, ₹1,000, or even much more over time.

So the key idea is:
– Risk is limited to the invested capital.
– Reward can grow significantly with time and  business growth.

This is why patience, discipline, and investing in strong businesses can create long-term wealth. The real courage in investing is not taking blind risk, but understanding that while losses are capped, the upside potential can keep compounding.

“ The Swipe Takes Seconds, The EMI Takes Years.”

EMI Lifestyle.

Liability?
